Human life is linked to the most important element, which is water. This vital element is considered a water heritage shared by all civilizations of the ancient world, which thrived on its presence to ensure their survival and continuity. Through this study, we aim to highlight the techniques of storing and transporting water to the ancient city of Constantine in various ways and methods adopted by each civilization (Roman and Ottoman) in order to exploit this vital element in the construction and development of society. Each civilization that passed through this city developed alternative strategies and plans to ensure the availability of water when needed in anticipation of climate fluctuations and lack of rainfall. The topic is of great importance as these civilizations, especially the Romans, relied on the construction of water architectural structures to preserve water, such as reservoirs and basins, and then developed methods and techniques to transport water to the ancient city of Constantine through canals to reach public facilities and its constituent dwellings. We have identified the most important water architectural structures during the Ottoman period, highlighting their components and defining their role in the city based on illustrative diagrams and providing the study with photos through field sampling.
