Abstract: Businessmen are seen as a social elite whose emergence has been linked to the emergence of modern society and the rules of the division of social labor as one of the elements of strength upon which states rely in advancing the pace of economic growth, and achieving multidimensional social development, especially in third world societies, which strive to catch up with the developed capitalist countries. In this article, we discuss the study of a social class or group with a recent emergence and form in Algeria, and by that we mean the business elite, by exposing the problem of the emergence of the concept and its nature, and the theoretical trends that explain it, as we touch on the most important features and characteristics of this social group, Let us highlight from this the difficulty of reaching the stage of reproducing itself without relying on the state or away from it, as well as its inability in a harmonious and complete form to separate itself from the rest of the other social groups as an active elite proposing force in the economic arena.
