Abstract: This research explores the influence of global sporting events on people's desire to travel to the host nation. We focused specifically on the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. A survey of 135 Algerian fans of the tournament was conducted online. The results, analyzed through qualitative methods, show a strong link between following the World Cup and a heightened interest in visiting Qatar. These findings offer valuable insights for tourism officials and industry leaders seeking to utilize sporting events to promote their destinations. This study concludes that global sporting events play a crucial role in influencing travel intentions.
