الملخص
الملخص: يهدف هذا المقال إلى تسليط الضوء على تاريخ مدينتي برشك وشرشال خلال العصر الوسيط، وذلك بالاستعانة بكتابات الجغرافيين والرحالة الذين زاروا المدينة أو كتبوا عنها من أمثال ابن حوقل، والبكري، والإدريسي، والحميري، والحسن الوزان، وبما تحويه من معطيات ونصوص تاريخية لها ارتباط بالجوانب الطبيعية والجغرافية، وبعض التفاصيل حول الأوضاع الاقتصادية والاجتماعية. إن أهمية هذه المصادر تكمن في كونها أكثر المصادر تفصيلاً ودقة في وصف المدينتين وتاريخهما الوسيط، مما يجعل منها مصادر أساسية لأي بحث أكاديمي يسعى إلى فهم وتفسير وتوثيق تاريخ هاتين المدينتين، ثم إن دراسة واستقراء مثل هذه المصادر يتيح لنا الفرصة لفهم أفضل للسياق التاريخي الذي ازدهرت فيه مدينتي برشك وشرشال خلال العصر الوسيط، ويساعدنا على رسم صورة ولو جزئية عن التطورات والأحداث التي شهدتها المدينتين خلال الفترة محل الدراسة. Abstract: This article aims to shed light on the history of the cities of Barchek and Cherchell during the Middle Ages, relying on the writings of geographers and travelers who visited these cities or wrote about them, such as Ibn Hawqal, Al-Bakri, Al-Idrisi, Al-Himyari, and Hassan Al-Wazzan. It draws on historical data and texts related to natural and geographical aspects, as well as some details about the economic and social conditions of the time.. The importance of these sources lies in the fact that they are among the most detailed and precise in describing the two cities and their medieval history, making them essential references for any academic research aiming to understand, interpret, and document the history of these two cities. Moreover, the study and analysis of such sources offer us the opportunity to better grasp the historical context in which Barchek and Cherchell thrived during the Middle Ages and help us sketch, even partially, a picture of the developments and events experienced by the two cities during the period under study.
