Abstract

The study aims to find out the role of information technology in education during the lockdown caused by COVID-19. The researcher used a structured questionnaire for data collection, the sample population is 66 teachers from private and public schools in Ramallah city, examining the readiness of our schools and homes in terms of technology to resume the education process, they were asked their opinion about the role of information technology to achieve the e-learning. Then studying the effect of some characteristics like school type, age, sex. SPSS software is used for data analysis and tests to get study results. The study found that IT has a major role in the education process through the COVID-19, especially under lockdown, when students cannot reach their schools. Public schools suffer from weak technological infrastructure to achieve education process. It also found that some demographic characteristics statistically affect the role of IT in education.
