الملخص
أوكلت جباية الضرائب إلى شركات خاصة كانت ترى في العملية استثمارا مربحا، ولهذا لم تكن تتردد في مضاعفة الضرائب المحددة قانونا. وقد استمر الاستغلال الفاحش للأهالي حتى بعد أن افتكت منها العملية، ومنحها للإدارة وكانت النتيجة انتشار الفقر والمجاعات في أوساط الأهالي، مما دفع بالكثير منهم إلى الفرار إلى الجبال والغابات والصحراء حيث لا تصلهم الإدارة الرومانية، ومنهم من ثار ضد السلطة الرومانية ومن يمثلها ومن أشهر الثورات في هذا الباب ثورة الدوارين. الكلمات المفتاحية: الجباية، الضرائب، الصحراء، السلطة الرومانية، الفقر، الأهالي. Abstract: The collection of taxes was entrusted to private companies who saw the process as a profitable investment, and for this they did not hesitate to double the legally determined taxes.
