Two New Geoglossaceae For Algeria

Abstract

A field research in Baînem forest in northwestern Algiers, resulted in the collection of two Geoglossaceae : Geoglossum barlae and Trichoglossum hirsutum for the first time in Algeria. The fruitbodies were found growing on soil, and Sphagnum spp.. This paper presents new findings on the geoglossaceous fungi of Algeria, their distribution and their ecology. A key for Algerian G eoglossaceae is proposed.
