The judge responsible for the execution of sentences oversees the implementation of sentences on those convicted definitively, whether they are outside the walls of the penal institution or inside it, and who prove their good conduct within it, which falls within his jurisdiction, This is done by monitoring the legality of the application of custodial sentences and alternative sentences when necessary, and by ensuring the proper application of measures for individualizing the sentence, The law also grants the judge responsible for the execution of sentences, and no one else, the power to grant leave to the prisoner who has been definitively sentenced to a custodial sentence, and to issue a reasoned ruling to suspend the application of the custodial sentence for a period not exceeding three months. He is also competent to decide on the request for conditional release of the person who has been definitively sentenced to a custodial sentence
