The study aims to analyze the dynamic relationship between renewable energy and economic growth in Algeria over the period 1990–2025 using the Vector Autoregression (VAR) model and the Granger causality test. The findings from the impulse response function analysis reveal a dynamic interaction between renewable energy variables and economic growth, although the intensity of this interaction varies. The results indicate that improvements in Algeria's economic growth contribute to increased investment in and demand for renewable energy. However, the contribution of the renewable energy sector to economic growth remains limited. Furthermore, the study identifies a unidirectional causal relationship running from economic growth to renewable energy, while no strong or statistically significant causal relationship is found from renewable energy to economic growth
