الملخص: يتناول هذا المقال سلاحاً دفاعياً استعمله المغاربة بصفة عامة خلال العصر الوسيط، لكنه ارتبط أكثر بالمغرب الأوسط، وصحرائه الكبرى، كما اشتهر في الأندلس والمشرق الإسلامي، هذا السلاح هو الدرقة اللمطية، وهي ترس يحتمي به المقاتل، وقد ذاع صيتها مع صعود نجم المرابطين في القرن (5هـ/11م)، لكن هذا السلاح كان مستعملاً ومعروفاً في فترة الدولتين الزيرية والحمادية، ويحاول هذا المقال أن يتعرض لصناعة الدرقة اللمطية وانتشارها وسمعتها في المصادر. كلمات مفتاحية: Abstract: This article examines a defensive weapon widely utilized by the populations of the Maghreb during the medieval period, which became most notably associated with the Central Maghreb and its Saharan expanse, while also gaining renown in Al-Andalus and the Islamic East. This weapon is the Lamtite shield (al-Darqa al-Lamtiyya)—a buckler used by warriors for protection. Although its fame peaked with the rise of the Almoravid dynasty in the 5th century AH / 11th century CE, this defensive armor was already well-known and utilized during the eras of the Zirid and Hammadid dynasties. This study attempts to explore the manufacturing of the Lamtite shield, its widespread proliferation, and its historical reputation as documented in medieval primary sources.
