Abstract : The Qur’an was revealed in seven aḥruf (modes), which gave rise to a diversity of Qur’anic readings. Each transmitted reading, preserved through its recognized reciters, is characterized by specific rules governing its Analytical methodology, the phonetic performance of Qur’anic recitation exhibits considerable variation. This study examines selected manifestations of this phonetic diversity using a descriptive-inductive approach. Such variation appears in the pronunciation, arrangement, and forms of letters, as well as in the addition or omission of certain letters across readings. It is also reflected in recitational features such as vowel lengthening (madd), fatḥ, imālah, tarqīq, and tafkhīm. The findings reveal rich phonetic diversity that enhances the Qur’an’s aesthetic harmony while preserving consistent meanings, highlighting its linguistic and recitational eloquence.
