تتعدد أشكال الأسرة في الجزائر من نواحي عدة، أبرزها الناحية المرتبطة بالقرابة، حيث نجد الأسرة الممتدة الأفقية والعمودية، كما نجد الأسرة النووية وغيرها، وهذه الأشكال ستقابلها وقائع اجتماعية متنوعة وسلوك متباين في الإنجاب والتخطيط الأسري ورعاية الأبناء، والشواهد على هذه الظواهر كثيرة يمكن أن نلمسها من خلال الدراسات والأبحاث الميدانية أو من خلال الأنشطة الإعلامية أو من خلال الدفاتر الإحصائية المخصصة في رصد الظواهر، وفي هذا الصدد توصلت الدراسة إلى نتائج هامة أبرزها أن شكل الأسرة بقدر ما يؤثر في السلوك الإنجابي في محدداته الثلاثة المتمثلة إما في الرغبة في الإنجاب أو استخدام وسائل تحديد النسل أو الزواج المبكر، فإن عوامل أخرى تلعب الدور الوسيط بين المتغيرين، وأهمها التركيبة الحضرية للأسرة التي تتجلى في بيئة الريف أو الحضر أو شبه الحضر، حيث كان لها بالغ الأهمية في هذا المجال، وإذ كشفت لنا عن تباينات في السلوك الإنجابي بين الأسر النووية والممتدة والمختلطة. The family structure in Algeria varies in several ways, most notably in relation to kinship, where we find the horizontal and vertical extended family; we also find the nuclear family and others. These forms will be met with diverse social realities and varying behaviors in reproduction, family planning, and childcare. There are many examples of these phenomena that we can observe through field studies and research, or through media activities, or through statistical records dedicated to monitoring phenomena. In this regard, the study reached important conclusions; most notably that family structure significantly influences reproductive behavior in its three determinants: the desire to have children, the use of contraceptives, and early marriage. Other factors play an intermediary role between the two variables, the most important of which is the urban structure of the family, which is manifested in the rural, urban or semi-urban environment, as it has been of great importance in this field, and as it has revealed to us differences in reproductive behavior between nuclear, extended and mixed families.
