Résumé

Abstract This article analyzes the Palo Alto School as a major epistemological shift in communication theory. Emerging from interdisciplinary research in anthropology, psychiatry, and cybernetics, the School challenged linear transmission models and introduced a systemic approach based on circular causality and feedback. Communication is reconceptualized as a relational process in which meaning is co-constructed through interaction. The study examines the five axioms of communication, digital and analogical modalities, symmetry and complementarity, and the double bind theory. It concludes that the systemic paradigm remains highly relevant for understanding relational complexity in contemporary societies.
