This article presents a methodological reflection on a participatory research experience conducted in Oran concerning the political and civic engagement of youth. Adopting a generational approach, the investigation combines ethnography and semi-structured interviews to analyze activist practices within a context of evolving political pluralism. Faced with ethical challenges, the participatory methodology employed adapted tools: co-constructed generational timelines, research logs, and systematic triangulation. The results reveal a hybridization of action repertoires, with young people developing transferable skills between activist spheres reflecting the fluid boundaries between spheres of engagement. The article underscores the importance of protocol flexibility, reciprocity, and situated research ethics, and proposes transferable methodological instruments for the co-production of knowledge between researchers and actors.
