لقد ركز مرلوبونتي على مشاكل الادراك و التجسيد للعلاقة بين العقل و الجسم و العالم الموضوعي و العالم المتمرس ، أراد من خلال ذلك ايجاد بديلا عن المثالية من جهة و التجريبية الواقعية من جهة أخرى من خلال انتقاده لافتراضهم المشترك للعالم ، لذلك رفض الانتقادات التي وجهت للطريقة الظاهراتية ، وكان كتابه " فينومينولوجيا الادراك " هو العمل الذي اشتهر به و اثبت له باعتباره رائد الظواهرية الفرنسية الرائدة في جيله. Maurice Merleau-Ponty focused on the problems of perception and the embodiment of the relationship between mind, body, the objective world and the experienced world, by which he wanted to find an alternative to idealism on the one hand and realism empiricism on the other hand by criticizing their common assumption of the world, so he rejected the criticisms leveled For the phenomenological method, and his book "Phenomenology of Cognition" was the work for which he became famous and proved to him as the pioneer of the leading French phenomena of his generation.
